AMANDA KIRTLAND, LPC

Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly 15 years of experience in the field. She is a proud Hattiesburg native with a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s in community counseling from the University of South Alabama.

From serving at-risk youth and families in their homes to aiding persons with serious mental illnesses in the community, Amanda’s clinical experience is expansive. She is experienced in treating professionals with addictions, maladaptive workplace behaviors, and personality issues in both residential and intensive outpatient settings. Most recently, she was a leader and counselor for students at a college counseling center.

Amanda believes that everyone has the innate capacity to heal and grow. Her counseling philosophy is based on the belief that people are resilient and resourceful, and that they can overcome challenges with the right support. “I enjoy creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop new coping skills and perspectives. I believe there is nothing more powerful than when a person decides to make a change, and I look forward to being there for them when that happens.”
